I love a good apple cake ... ! It's always a hit at gatherings .. and so much better the next day.

Ingredients

3 c
unsifted all-purpose flour
2 1/3 c
sugar
3 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1 c
oil
2 1/2 tsp
real vanilla
4
large egg, unbeaten
1/4 c
orange juice
4
large apples, peeled, slices/diced
4 tsp
cinnamon
5 Tbsp
sugar

How to Make Jewish Apple Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Beat together until smooth -- flour, 2.5 cups sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla, oil, eggs, and juice.
  • 2In a separate bowl, mix apples, cinnamon and 5 Tbls sugar.
  • 3Layer the batter and apples in a greased tube pan, switching back and forth until it is all used up. (I like to end with some batter on top.)
  • 4Bake 350 for 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 hours.
