Step 1Layer the following in a 1-quart in order given. after you have put the ingredients in the 1 qt jar there is room for a baggy filled with whatever you want them to roll the cookie in after. Colored sprinkles are always fun near Christmas or the 4th of July

Step 2Attach the following recipe on a gift tag: Yuletide Hazelnut Balls: Empty contents of jar into a large bowl. Add 1 cup softened butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Combine well by using a large wooden spoon or your hands to mix thoroughly. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes. Form dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Do not make them too large or they will not cook properly. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375 degree F oven for 15-20 minutes or until set but not brown. Do not over-bake. Let stand 1 minute in pan then remove to wire rack. Cool until barely warm. Roll in sifted confectioners sugar, crushed nuts, baking chocolate, or candy sprinkles . Cool completely, then just before serving, roll again in the confectioners sugar if using the powdered sugar or baking cocoa.
