My sister gave me this recipe a long time ago. I have since made it too many times to mention. It makes a big batch!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter or margarine, soften
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    cornflakes
  • 1 c
    old-fashioned or instant oatmeal
  • 1 - 12 oz
    pkg. chocolate chips
  • 3 1/2 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts

How to Make Windy City Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
    Cream together shortening and sugars.
    Add egg, milk, vanilla and mix well.
  2. Stir together dry ingredients.
    Gradually add to creamed mixture, mix well.
    Stir in chips, cornflakes, oatmeal and nuts.
  3. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheets
    Bake at 350 until light brown 10-15 mins.
