whole wheat sesame seed cookies
This recipe is a modification from my original recipe in the attempt to make them a little healthier. They turned out great and will make them this way from now on unless I am making them for my aunt who probably prefers them the traditional way.

Ingredients
- 1 cup evaporated cane crystals or white sugar
- 1 tablespoon anise extract
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 dash of salt
- 5 tablespoons ground anise seed
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 6 cups whole wheat flour, i used freshly ground
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- - sesame seeds
How To Make whole wheat sesame seed cookies

Step 1Combine all ingredients, flour last

Step 2Let sit for 15 minutes

Step 3Scoop ice cream scoopfuls onto cookie sheets or form into rings (which is the traditional way)

Step 4Dip the top into sesame seeds

Step 5Place onto greased cookie sheet.

Step 6Bake at 350’ until barely golden on bottom, do not over bake
