Mom got this recipe off of the Wheatena box "way back when." You can still find Wheatena in some stores. But may be hard to find. Good Luck.

Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening (mom says butter or margarine works well too)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup uncooked wheatena
How To Make wheatena cookies

Step 1Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg (beaten well), milk, and vanilla.

Step 2Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add Wheatena. Mix.

Step 3Combine the two mixtures.

Step 4Drop by the spoonful onto your cookie sheet (I use aluminum foil). Bake at 375 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
