Mom got this recipe off of the Wheatena box "way back when." You can still find Wheatena in some stores. But may be hard to find. Good Luck.

  • 1 c
    shortening (mom says butter or margarine works well too)
  • 1 c
  • 1
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    uncooked wheatena

How to Make Wheatena Cookies


  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg (beaten well), milk, and vanilla.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add Wheatena. Mix.
  3. Combine the two mixtures.
  4. Drop by the spoonful onto your cookie sheet (I use aluminum foil). Bake at 375 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
