vanishing oatmeal cookies

A family favorite....one of the first recipes I tried when I first started cooking/baking 15 years ago :)

Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups old-fashioned/quick oats
- 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips
How To Make vanishing oatmeal cookies

Step 1Preheat over to 350 degrees.

Step 2In mixing bowl, cream butter and both of the sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.

Step 3In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir or mix into the butter mixture. Then stir in the oats and the raisins/chocolate chips.

Step 4Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Step 5Bake for 10-12 minutes or till lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.
