A family favorite....one of the first recipes I tried when I first started cooking/baking 15 years ago :)

Ingredients

1 c
margarine or butter
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c
sugar
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 c
all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
salt
3 c
old-fashioned/quick oats
1 c
raisins or chocolate chips

How to Make Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat over to 350 degrees.
  • 2In mixing bowl, cream butter and both of the sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • 3In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir or mix into the butter mixture. Then stir in the oats and the raisins/chocolate chips.
  • 4Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 5Bake for 10-12 minutes or till lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.
