  • 1 c
    margarine or butter
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
  • 2
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 3 c
    old-fashioned/quick oats
  • 1 c
    raisins or chocolate chips

How to Make Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies


  1. Preheat over to 350 degrees.
  2. In mixing bowl, cream butter and both of the sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir or mix into the butter mixture. Then stir in the oats and the raisins/chocolate chips.
  4. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or till lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.
