ground cinnamon

ground ginger
1/2 tsp
cloves, ground
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
ground nutmeg
3/4 c
hot tea

How to Make Upside-Down Apple Gingerbread


  • 1Pour butter into a 9-inch square baking pan.
  • 2Arrange apples over butter; sprinkle with brown sugar and set aside.
  • 3For gingerbread, combine butter, molasses, sugars and egg in a mixing bowl; mix well.
  • 4Combine dry ingredients; add to sugar mixture alternately with hot tea.
  • 5Mix well; pour over apples.
  • 6Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until the cake tests done.
  • 7Cool for 3-5 minutes.
  • 8Loosen sides and invert onto a serving plate.
  • 9Serve warm.
