This easy and tasty recipe came from our church cookbook dated 1982. Both kids and adults love these candy-like cookie bars. They often appear at our Annual Holiday Bazaar and always sell out.

Ingredients

  • 12 cups slightly crushed cornflakes
  • 1 jar (16 ounces) dry roasted peanuts
  • 1 1/2 cups corn syrup, light
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup peanut butter

How To Make unbaked peanut butter cookie bars

  • Step 1
    Stir together slightly crushed cornflakes and peanuts in a large bowl. Set aside. In a saucepan combine corn syrup, and sugars. Bring to a boil and boil fully for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Pour over cornflake mixture and mix gently until everything is coated.
  • Step 2
    Press mixture into a buttered 15 by 10 inch pan. Cool and cut into 24 bars.
