Ultimate mini M&M cookies

Saved this recipe from a magazine from 1997. Made it with my granddaughter for the first time today, 16 years later. I usually take 3 or 4 recipes and make one to my family's taste, but I this one will stand "as is".

Makes about 3 dozen


1 c
(2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 c
granulated sugar
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 large
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/8 tsp
1 c
m&m mini baking bits
3/4 c
chopped nuts (optional)

How to Make Ultimate mini M&M cookies


  • 1Preheat oven to 350F. In large bowl cream butter and sugars till light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla.
  • 2In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mix. Stir in M&M's and nuts.
  • 3Drop by heaping tablespoonful about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 4Bake 10-13 minutes, or until edges are lightly brown and centers are still soft. Do not over bake.
  • 5Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; cool completely on wire racks. Store in tightly covered container
