This is a recipe I got from a friend. Rich chocolate brownies have an oatmeal layer that makes them special and delicious. These are great for taking to picnics and church suppers!

  • 3/4 c
    rolled oats
  • 1/3 c
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 pkg
    fudge brownie mix (15.5 ounce)
  • ·
    ingredients called for on brownie package

How to Make Oatmeal Brownies


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom only of 9 inch square pan. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar,and nuts with softened butter. Pack mixture evenly over bottom of prepared pan.
  2. Make brownies according to package directions. Spread brownie dough evenly over oat mixture.
  3. Bake 35-40 minutes. Turn pan upside down immediately when removed from oven.Cool. Cut into squares to serve.
