This recipe was developed after several years of experimenting. I started with the basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and this is the final result. To me, and my family and friends, this is the ultimate chocolate chip cookie! I hope you give it a try!

Ingredients For twisted chocolate chip cookies

  • 2 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 c
    white sugar
  • 3/4 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
    eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 c
    peanut butter, creamy
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    butterscotch chips
  • 1 c
    crushed walnuts

How To Make twisted chocolate chip cookies

    Preheat oven to 375. In medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt - set aside.

    Cream together softened butter, vanilla, peanut butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until creamy. Gradually stir in flour mixture and mix until blended.

    Fold in chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and crushed walnuts. (Quick tip for crushing walnuts: measure out whole walnuts, place in zip lock bag & seal, releasing air and use mallet/hammer to crush.)

    Use melon baller (your choice on size) or rounded teaspoon to drop on ungreased cookie sheet 1 1/2" to 2" apart. Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Let cookies sit for a few minutes and then with a thin spatula, move to wire rack to cool. Enjoy!
