Twisted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cheryl Larson

This recipe was developed after several years of experimenting. I started with the basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and this is the final result. To me, and my family and friends, this is the ultimate chocolate chip cookie! I hope you give it a try!

2 1/4 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
2 stick
butter, room temperature
3/4 c
white sugar
3/4 c
packed brown sugar
1 tsp
vanilla extract
eggs, room temperature
1/3 c
peanut butter, creamy
1 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c
butterscotch chips
1 c
crushed walnuts

1Preheat oven to 375.

In medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt - set aside.
2Cream together softened butter, vanilla, peanut butter, white sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until creamy. Gradually stir in flour mixture and mix until blended.
3Fold in chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and crushed walnuts. (Quick tip for crushing walnuts: measure out whole walnuts, place in zip lock bag & seal, releasing air and use mallet/hammer to crush.)
4Use melon baller (your choice on size) or rounded teaspoon to drop on ungreased cookie sheet 1 1/2" to 2" apart. Bake for approximately 10 minutes. Let cookies sit for a few minutes and then with a thin spatula, move to wire rack to cool. Enjoy!
