Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup oats, quick cooking or old-fashioned
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups trail mix (preferred w/raisins, m&m's, cashews)

How To Make trail mix monster cookies

  • Step 1
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, beat sugars, peanut butter, shortening, butter or margarine, vanilla and eggs -- mix until creamy. Stir in flour, oats, baking powder and baking soda and mix thoroughly. Stir in trail mix.
  • Step 2
Dough is not tacky, so scoop up some dough in the palm of your hand and form into a ball -- as big as you wish. Place dough ball on ungreased cookie sheet and smash down with palm of your hand.
  • Step 3
Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool 2 minutes before taking off cookie sheet (cool longer the bigger they are); remove and cool completely on wire rack.
