I've been making these cookies since I was old enough to use the oven. I've made them so many times I don't need to look at the recipe anymore.

Ingredients
- 2 sticks margarine
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces bag chocolate chips
- - chopped walnuts (optional)
How To Make tollhouse cookies

Step 1In a mixing bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add eggs, mix well.

Step 2Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; stir well. Mix in chocolate chips and walnuts (if you're adding them).

Step 3Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire cooling rack.

Step 4To make pan cookies: Spread cookie dough into a 9X13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
