Tollhouse Cookies

I've been making these cookies since I was old enough to use the oven. I've made them so many times I don't need to look at the recipe anymore.

2 stick
3/4 c
3/4 c
brown sugar, packed
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 large
2 1/4 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
12 oz
bag chocolate chips
chopped walnuts (optional)


1In a mixing bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add eggs, mix well.
2Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; stir well. Mix in chocolate chips and walnuts (if you're adding them).
3Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire cooling rack.
4To make pan cookies:
Spread cookie dough into a 9X13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
