My MOM brought home this recipe. So I told my MOM that I will bake some for her. But the frist batch I made did not taste right. So I changed the recipe up a little and add the cinnamon,sugar and baking powder. And instaed of putting cherry in the middle I put Smuckers Strwaberry Jam and sprinkle powder sugar on top! Yummmy!

Ingredients For thumbprint cookies

  • 2 stick
    butter or margarine
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make thumbprint cookies

    In a large bowl, mix together butter or margarine,egg yolks,brown sugar,sugar,vanilla, untill creamy. (if you can use sweet butter it gives more flavor to the cookie.

    Then add the flour,baking powder,cinnamon,salt and mix well.

    Roll dough into 1"inch balls. Take the plam of your hand and press, use a small cookie cutter if you like and make a thumbprint in the middle,and add 1/2 teaspoon of flavor Jam or Maraschino Cherry Smucker Jam is the best!

    Bake on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 to 10 mins. or till jam is bubbley and cookie is lightly brown. When cool sprinkle powder sugar and enjoy!:)
