Makes about 5 dozen
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup crisco butter flavor shortening
- 1 cup light brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make thick chocolate chip cookies

Step 1Combine flour, salt and baking powder in a small bowl and mix with a fork. Set aside.

Step 2Soften butter and shortening in microwave. stirring until very soft. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla beat well. Add eggs separately beating until creamy. Add flour mixture (1/2 cup at a time)while beating. Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts.

Step 3Refrigerate for 1-3 hours in covered bowl. Pre heat oven to 375, 15 minutes prior to first batch. Drop onto Parchment paper lined cookie sheet in large rounded tablespoonful size. Bake 10-12 minutes checking every two minutes after 8 minutes for golden brown appearance.(don't over bake) Remove from oven let stand 5 minutes before removing to rack to cool. Store in an air-tight container for up to one week. Makes about (5) dozen cookies.
