1/2 c
butter
1/2 c
crisco butter flavor shortening
1 c
light brown sugar packed
1/2 c
granulated sugar
2 large
eggs
3 tsp
vanilla
2 3/4 c
all purpose flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
salt
2 c
semi sweet chocolate chips
1 c
chopped walnuts

How to Make Thick Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine flour, salt and baking powder in a small bowl and mix with a fork. Set aside.
  • 2Soften butter and shortening in microwave. stirring until very soft. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla beat well. Add eggs separately beating until creamy. Add flour mixture (1/2 cup at a time)while beating. Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts.
  • 3Refrigerate for 1-3 hours in covered bowl. Pre heat oven to 375, 15 minutes prior to first batch. Drop onto Parchment paper lined cookie sheet in large rounded tablespoonful size. Bake 10-12 minutes checking every two minutes after 8 minutes for golden brown appearance.(don't over bake) Remove from oven let stand 5 minutes before removing to rack to cool. Store in an air-tight container for up to one week. Makes about (5) dozen cookies.
