Well, these were the best when Mom made them with LARD!!! Mine are good, but still not like Mom's...

Ingredients

1 cup shortening (orgininally called for lard!!!) i use butter.
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 - eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 bag chocolate chips (use real, not imitation)
1/2 or 1 cups chopped nuts (optional)

How To Make the world's best chocolate chip cookies

Step 1

Cream together the first 4 ingredients.

Step 2

Beat in the 2 eggs.
Step 3

Sift in the dry ingredients.
Step 4

Mix in the chocolate chips and nuts, if you want them.
Step 5

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Now the bake time depends on your oven and what kind of cookie sheet you use. Keep an eye on 'em and pull 'em out when they look done! My oven seems to run a little cooler and I use a baking stone, so the first batch always takes longer.
