Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c
    veg. oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 15 oz
    can pumpkin
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • FROSTING

  • 4 oz
    cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 stick
    real butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c
    powder sugar

How to Make "The great Pumpkin" Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Set oven at 350 degrees F.
  2. In mixer bowl cream together granulated sugar and veg. oil Beat eggs into creamed mixture, next add the can of pumpkin.
  3. sift together flour,baking powder ,baking soda cinnamon and salt . add this to the pumpkin mixture . mix until all of the dry ingredients are mixed into the pumpkin mixture.
  4. Put the batter into a 13x9x2 inch greased
    and floured pan . bake for 25 minutes . Bake 25 minutes or until a tooth pick stuck into the middle comes out clean or when touched it springs back
  5. Cool cake on rack . While it is cooling prepare the frosting.
  6. mix together Softened cream cheese , the 1/2 stick butter (softened),vanilla , 2 1/2 cups cups powder sugar (add a little at a time , If added all at one
    time it makes a mess on your counter top)Mix till all in ingredients are incorporated and it is creamy and spreadable. If it needs a little more liquid to make it easilly spreadable add a little milk a teaspoon at a time .
    Frost the cooled cake and serve.
