Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all purpose flour, unsifted
- 3/4 cup hershey's cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
How To Make the chewy chocolate cookie

Step 1Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.

Step 2Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda & salt. Add to butter mixture; stir to blend. Add chocolate chips. Stir in nuts if desired.

Step 3Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 9 minutes.

Step 4Remove cookies from oven and let cool for about 1 minute. Transfer to cooling rack until cooled completely. Enjoy!

Step 5Tip: Do not overbake. Cookies will be soft. They will puff during cooking and flatten upon cooling.
