With Valentine's Day around the corner, I was looking through recipes for a good sugar cookie and found this one. I made them and they were a big hit with the family. I am actually looking forward to making more for a party on Valentine's Day! Of course you can decorate them for any holiday or just to have a good sugar cookie with coffee in the mornings. Enjoy!

How to Make The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover bowl with a cling wrap and chill dough at least 1 hour or over night.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
    Cut into shapes and place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, cool completely.
