Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened to room temp
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 - ripened banana
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

How To Make the best banana oatmeal cookies on the planet

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375.
  • Step 2
    Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    Beat together butter and sugars. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in vanilla.
  • Step 4
    Stir in flour mixture into wet mixture.
  • Step 5
    Slice and mash banana. Stir into mixture.
  • Step 6
    Stir in chocolate chips and oats. Mix well.
  • Step 7
    Onto a buttered / greased baking dish, drop batter by the heaping teaspoonful. Bake 10-11 minutes, or just until edges are slightly brown.
  • Step 8
    Let cool on cooling rack (or, if you don't have one like me, on a clean pizza baking dish - the ones with the holes in them - set on top of an upside-down bundt pan!) and store in air-tight container.
