Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 - egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
- - sugar, for rolling cookies
How To Make texas sandies

Step 1Cream butter and sugars in bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour, half a cup at a time until well blended. Stir in pecans.

Step 2Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place on a cookie sheet (ungreased). Press with the bottom of a glass to 3/8 inch thickness.

Step 3Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Lower the heat to 300 degrees and bake for 12 minutes longer or until just light brown on the bottom.

Step 4Cool cookies for a minute before transfer to a rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
