Ingredients For texas sandies

1 cbutter or margarine

1/2 cgranulated sugar

1/4 clight brown sugar

1egg yolk
-
1 tspvanilla

2 1/4 call purpose flour

1/2 cfinely chopped pecans

sugar, for rolling cookies
How To Make texas sandies

1Cream butter and sugars in bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour, half a cup at a time until well blended. Stir in pecans.

2Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place on a cookie sheet (ungreased). Press with the bottom of a glass to 3/8 inch thickness.

3Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Lower the heat to 300 degrees and bake for 12 minutes longer or until just light brown on the bottom.

4Cool cookies for a minute before transfer to a rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
