We lived near a wonderful little bakery in Burbank and they had "to die for" Tea Squares (my name). I couldn't afford bakery goods so I tried and tried until I got it right! This recipe is written on my infamous pink card stock! LOL

Ingredients

1/2 stick
oleo (butter)
1 c
sugar
2 c
flour

egg
1 pinch
allspice, ground
1 c
almonds, chopped
jam, any flavor (i used apricot or raspberry

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat oven to 350. Butter and flour 9x9x3 pan
  • 2Mix until crumbly.
  • 31/2 batter in pan; spread jam on top; 1/2 batter on jam.
  • 4Bake until crust is golden brown.
