This recipe came from a good friend who has Swedish in-laws. These are tasty!

Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 - eggs separated
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 1/4 cups almonds finely chopped
- - candied cherries
How To Make swedish tarts

Step 1preheat oven to 350

Step 2Mix butter, egg yolk, sugar, flour, extract, and salt until well blended.

Step 3Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll balls into egg whites until completely covered. Roll egg white covered balls into chopped almonds. Firmly press candied cherry, cut side down, onto cookie.

Step 4Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 15-20 minutes until cookies start to turn a light golden brown.
