Ingredients

  • 2 stick
    butter
  • 2
    eggs separated
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1 1/4 c
    almonds finely chopped
  • ·
    candied cherries

How to Make Swedish Tarts

Step-by-Step

  1. preheat oven to 350
  2. Mix butter, egg yolk, sugar, flour, extract, and salt until well blended.
  3. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll balls into egg whites until completely covered. Roll egg white covered balls into chopped almonds. Firmly press candied cherry, cut side down, onto cookie.
  4. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 15-20 minutes until cookies start to turn a light golden brown.
