This recipe came from a good friend who has Swedish in-laws. These are tasty!

eggs separated
1/2 c
2 c
1 tsp
almond extract
1 pinch
1 1/4 c
almonds finely chopped
candied cherries

How to Make Swedish Tarts


  • 1preheat oven to 350
  • 2Mix butter, egg yolk, sugar, flour, extract, and salt until well blended.
  • 3Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll balls into egg whites until completely covered. Roll egg white covered balls into chopped almonds. Firmly press candied cherry, cut side down, onto cookie.
  • 4Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 15-20 minutes until cookies start to turn a light golden brown.
