Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons orange zest
- 1 - egg
How To Make swedish spice cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sift the Flour together with the sugar and baking soda.

Step 2Combine the corn syrup, butter, spices and orange zest in a small saucepan; heat, just until the mixture boils and the butter melts. Remove from the heat and cool.

Step 3Whisk the egg in a large bowl; slowly pour the cooled syrup into the egg, mixing well, with a wooden spoon.

Step 4Stir in the flour mixture all at once; mix until well blended.

Step 5Drop by teaspoonfuls to form the cookies, 2" apart on greased or parchment lined cookie sheets.

Step 6Bake 11-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer cookies to cooling racks. When cool, store in a lightly closed container.
