Ingredients For swedish pepparkakor

1/2 cwhite sugar

1/2 cbrown sugar

1/2 cbutter/shortening, mixed (do not use margarine)

1egg

1/2 cmolasses or dark corn syrup

1/4 cstrong coffee

1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspground cloves
-
1 tspground cinnamon

1 tspground ginger

pinch salt

3-4 cflour (enough to roll)
How To Make swedish pepparkakor

1In a large mixing bowl, cream together sugars and butter/shortening mixture. Blend in egg, molasses or corn syrup and coffee. Sift together soda, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, salt and 3 cups of flour. Combine to form dough, adding more flour if necessary.

2Refrigerate until firm. Roll thin; use cookie cutter to cut shapes and bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
