This recipe has been in our family about 70 years. It is the best sugar cookie I've ever tasted! The cook time is 8 to 12 minutes depending on how chewy or crispy you like them.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (oleo) softened
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 - eggs
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1 teaspoon salt
How To Make sugar cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350

Step 2Throughly cream vegetable oil, butter and both sugars. Add vanilla and eggs.

Step 3Sift dry ingredients. Stir in and blend. (I use my stand mixer on low for 30 seconds, then on medium speed just until mixed together).

Step 4Roll a teaspoon of soft dough into a ball. Roll ball in granulated sugar. (I color or buy the sugar depending on the holiday or time of year).

Step 5Press down on a lightly greased cookie sheet with a glass tumbler (use the bottom greased with a little dough), then dip the tumbler in granulated sugar.
