Step 1In a large bowl beat butter. beat in sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add oil, egg, and vanilla. beat until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can. Stir in any remaining flour. Divide dough in half and chill for 1--2 hours.

Step 2preheat oven to 375.Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.

Step 3Bake for 6-8 minutes. put on wire rack to cool.
