You know those simple, bland looking cookies that you don’t think much of, but when you start eating them you can’t stop? These are those kinds of cookies! They are sweet, buttery and naturally gluten-free, since they are made with cornstarch. If the classic version is a bit bland for you, here are some suggestions: 1/2 teaspoon lime, lemon or orange zest for a citrus flavor bomb 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon gives you an almost snickerdoodle flavor 2 tablespoons shredded coconut for a tropical twist 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract (you might need more cornstarch to reach the dough consistency)

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups cornstarch
How To Make starchies

Step 1Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2Combine the sweetened condensed milk with the butter. Beat until smooth.

Step 3Stir in the cornstarch two tablespoons at a time. Mix until a smooth dough is formed.

Step 4Divide by the rounded teaspoon, lightly rolling in hand to form a smooth 2-inch ball. Place on a parchment paper- lined baking sheet.

Step 5Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Cookies should NOT BROWN.

Step 6Let them cool briefly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
