Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light or dark molasses
- 3 - eggs
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make spicy molasses cookies

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients and spices; add to batter and mix lightly. Stir in nuts and raisins if desired; mix well.

Step 2Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire rack.
