Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon clove, ground
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- - additional sugar
- PUMPKIN DIP
- 1 package cream cheese (8oz.)
- 1 - canned pumpkin pie mix (18oz.
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
How To Make spice cookies with pumpkin dip

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add molasses; mix well.

Step 3Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt. Add to creamed mixture and beat well.

Step 4Chill overnight.

Step 5Shape into 1/2" balls; roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 6Bake for 6 min. or until edges begin to brown. Cool for 2 mins. before removing to a wire rack.

Step 7FOR PUMKIN DIP

Step 8Beat cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth. Add pumpkin pie mix; beat well. Add sugar, cinnamon and ginger; beat until smooth.

Step 9Serve with cookies. Store leftover dip in the refrigerator.
