Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening, butter flavor
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 cup dark molasses
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon clove, ground
- 3/4 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg ( optional or pumpkin pie spice )
How To Make spice cookies

Step 1Cream shortening, sugars together until creamy. add eggs and mix until thoroughly mixed, add molasses and mix well.

Step 2Incorporate dry ingredients and slowly mix into wet ingredients.

Step 3Form into walnut sized balls. Do either one of two options.

Step 4Either roll balls in white sugar or press bottom of glass in sugar then onto cookies (I opt for 2nd most of the time)

Step 5bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
