sour cream spice cookies
The American Woman's Cook Book 1946 I added about a cup of raisins to half of the batter. There are delish!!! They baked up nice and soft.

Ingredients
- 3 cups sifted cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves ( i use 1/4t)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 - eggs well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 2 cups raisins (optional)
How To Make sour cream spice cookies

Step 1Measure the flour after you have sifted it. Then, sift flour, soda, spices and salt together.

Step 2Cream shortening with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.

Step 3Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream in small amounts. End with flour. Mix well.

Step 4Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheets and bake in moderate oven (350 F) 12 minutes.
