Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make soft molasses cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
    Cream margarine and sugar until well blended. Add eggs and beat well. Add molasses and beat to combine.
  • Step 3
    Add remaining ingredients. Combine well into ball.
  • Step 4
    Chill dough for at least one hour
  • Step 5
    Roll teaspoons of dough into balls and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheets. These cookies will spread so be careful not to crowd them.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Keep in airtight container.
