We had these at a family gathering , a member of my sister-in-laws family brought them to the gathering. They are so moist and flavorful we couldn't stop eating them.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 - egg beaten
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • - extra sugar for rolling cookies in

How To Make soft gingersnaps

  • Step 1
    Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients , an add to wet ingredients mixing well after each addition.Roll into small balls then roll in extra sugar.
  • Step 2
    Place 2" apart on cookie sheet that has been sprayed with Pam. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes . Remove to cooling rack and let cool for 10 minutes . Eat and enjoy!!
