- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar--packed
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour--all purpose
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- 1/4 cup butter--softened (for icing)

Step 1CAKE: BLEND TOGETHER BUTTER & BROWN SUGAR. ADD EGGS, 1 AT A TIME, BLEND WELL. ADD VANILLA, BEAT UNTIL LIGHT.

Step 2IN SEPARATE BOWL, STIR TOGETHER FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA & SALT. ADD FLOUR MIXTURE TO BUTTER MIXTURE, ALTERNATING WITH SOUR CREAM, MIX WELL

Step 3DROP BY ROUNDED TABLESPOONS ONTO NON STICK OR LIGHTLY GREASED BAKING SHEETS. BAKE 350 DEGREES-------8 MINS.

Step 4REMOVE FROM OVEN TO COOL FROST WITH BROWNED BUTTER FROSTING

Step 5BROWN BUTTER FROSTING: 1/4C BUTTER 1 1/2 C CONFECTIONERS SUGAR 2 T MILK MELT BUTTER IN PAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL IT TURNS GOLDEN. WATCH CAREFULLY AS THIS WILL HAPPEN QUICKLY. REMOVE FROM HEAT. STIR IN CONFECTIONER'S SUGAR & ENOUGH MILK TO MAKE A SPREADING CONSISTENCY.
