Buttery, melt in your mouth little shortbread cookies. /I have made these every year since I was eleven years old. A favorite among men, I have received many a proposal! But I am very happily married! My proudest moment? When my daughters haved called from California to get the recipe, because the holidays would not be the same without them!

Ingredients

1 - cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts

How To Make snowball cookies

Step 1

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Chill dough 20 minutes. Heat oven to 400°. Roll dough to 1 inch balls.place on ungreased cookie sheet (cookies do not spread.) Bake 10 minutes till set. Do not brown. While still warm roll in powdered sugar. Cool completely and roll in powdered sugar again. Delicious with eggnog or a steaming cup of coffee.
