Ingredients

  • 1 c
    soft shortining
  • 1 &1/2 c
    plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 & 3/4 c
    sifted flour
  • 2 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 medium
    eggs

How to Make Snickerdoodles

Step-by-Step

  1. blend together shortening,1 & 1/2 cup sugar & egg.
  2. sift together flour cream of tartat,soda & salt.
  3. add to creamed mixture.stir till well mixed.
  4. roll dough into balls the size of walnuts.
  5. ust the 2 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon mixed in a small bowl to roll the the balls in.
  6. on a ungreased cookie sheet place the balls 2 inches apart or more.
  7. in a preheated oven bake at 400* oven for8-10 min.
  8. remove to cool.
