These are my Dad's favorite cookies that I use to make for him all the time.

Ingredients

1 cup soft shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 - eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

How To Make snickerdoodles

Step 1

Cream together first three ingredients. Sift together and stir in next four ingredients. Shape in to balls the size of walnuts. Roll balls in a mixture of 2 Tablespoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes in 350 degree oven. Don't overbake as you want them to be soft.
