These are a fabulous snickerdoodle cookie. I like to make my cinnamon sugar with a little more cinnamon then it calls for.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup plus 2 tbs. sugar, divided
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make snickerdoodles

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, cream butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  • Step 2
    Combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tarter; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and remaining sugar.
  • Step 4
    Shape dough into 1" balls; roll in cinnamon sugar. Place 2" apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 375* for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to a wire rack.
