How to Make Snickerdoodles
- 1Mix thoroughly the shortening, butter, sugar and eggs.
- 2Stir in flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar. Chill.
- 3Then roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in the mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
- 4Place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until lightly brown but still soft in a 400° oven. Makes 5 dozen.
