How to Make Snickerdoodles
- Mix thoroughly the shortening, butter, sugar and eggs.
- Stir in flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar. Chill.
- Then roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in the mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
- Place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until lightly brown but still soft in a 400° oven. Makes 5 dozen.
