Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
How To Make snickerdoodles

Step 1Mix thoroughly the shortening, butter, sugar and eggs.

Step 2Stir in flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar. Chill.

Step 3Then roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in the mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.

Step 4Place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until lightly brown but still soft in a 400° oven. Makes 5 dozen.
