Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or shortening (i prefer butter)
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2-3/4 cup sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tarter (the key ingredient i feel)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • MIXTURE
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

How To Make snickerdoodles

  • Step 1
    Mix together butter (shortening), sugar, vanilla and eggs.
  • Step 2
    Put flour, cream of tarter, baking soda & salt together and add to the above cream mixture. Let dough sit in refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Step 3
    Mix together the cinnamon and sugar on a flat pie pan or quiche dish. Take cookie dough from refrigerator and make into teaspoon size balls. Roll the balls in the cinnamon & sugar mixture and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
