Ingredients

  • 1 c
    butter or shortening (i prefer butter)
  • 1-1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2-3/4 c
    sifted flour
  • 2 tsp
    cream of tarter (the key ingredient i feel)
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • MIXTURE

  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Snickerdoodles

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together butter (shortening), sugar, vanilla and eggs.
  2. Put flour, cream of tarter, baking soda & salt together and add to the above cream mixture. Let dough sit in refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar on a flat pie pan or quiche dish. Take cookie dough from refrigerator and make into teaspoon size balls. Roll the balls in the cinnamon & sugar mixture and place on cookie sheet.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
