Makes 2 Dozen
Ingredients
- DOUGH INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup soft shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- AFTER DOUGH INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
How To Make snickerdoodles

Step 1Mix together thoroughly the shortening, sugar, and eggs.

Step 2In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Mix in with batter from STEP 1.

Step 3Chill dough for about an hour.

Step 4Take dough and roll into balls about the size of a walnut and then roll in sugar and cinnamon.

Step 5Place about 2 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Cook on 400 for about 8-10 minutes. *Note: These cookies will puff at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.
