Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
How To Make snickerdoodles

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter on high for 30 seconds, with an electric mixer.

Step 2Beat in the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Beat until thoroughly combined.

Step 3Mix in the flour. If you use a wooden spoon in conjunction with the electric mixer it will make the dough come together quickly and easily.

Step 4Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough for 1 hour.

Step 5Preheat oven to 375°. Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.

Step 6Remove the dough from the refrigerator and shape the dough into 1 inch balls.

Step 7Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.

Step 8Place balls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 9Bake at 375° for 10-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.

Step 10Cool cookies on cooling rack.
