1/4 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp

1/8 tsp
salt
1 1/2 c
flour
2 Tbsp
sugar
1 tsp

How to Make Snickerdoodles

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter on high for 30 seconds, with an electric mixer.
  • 2Beat in the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Beat until thoroughly combined.
  • 3Mix in the flour. If you use a wooden spoon in conjunction with the electric mixer it will make the dough come together quickly and easily.
  • 4Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough for 1 hour.
  • 5Preheat oven to 375°.
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.
  • 6Remove the dough from the refrigerator and shape the dough into 1 inch balls.
  • 7Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
  • 8Place balls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 9Bake at 375° for 10-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  • 10Cool cookies on cooling rack.
