sliced nut cookies
This is an OLD recipe passed down from my grandmother and maybe even beyond....takes preparation, but then is so easy to just slice and bake....and they are delicious.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups melted crisco
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 - well-beaten eggs
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts best)
- 5 cups flour (sifted)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
How To Make sliced nut cookies

Step 1Cream crisco with sugars. Add eggs slowly. Mix well.

Step 2Stir in nuts, then dry ingredients.

Step 3Shape into a roll (or 2) 2 1/2"-3" thick. Put in wax paper in refrigerator overnight. (The log will be the consistency of soft fudge)

Step 4Slice thin and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes until they begin to brown.
