This is an OLD recipe passed down from my grandmother and maybe even beyond....takes preparation, but then is so easy to just slice and bake....and they are delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    melted crisco
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 3
    well-beaten eggs
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts (walnuts best)
  • 5 c
    flour (sifted)
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make SLICED NUT COOKIES

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream crisco with sugars.
    Add eggs slowly. Mix well.
  2. Stir in nuts, then dry ingredients.
  3. Shape into a roll (or 2) 2 1/2"-3" thick.
    Put in wax paper in refrigerator overnight.
    (The log will be the consistency of soft fudge)
  4. Slice thin and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes until they begin to brown.
