shelley's chocolate chip cookies
These were a yearly Christmas gift from my sister. She had this recipe down pat and they were scrumptious! I always double the recipe (not the salt and use your judgement on the chocolate chips ;) Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.

Ingredients
- 3/4 to 1 cups butter (do not substitute)
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips (small pkg)

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, cream butter, egg, sugars and vanilla with a spoon until smooth.

Step 2In a separate bowl, sift flour, soda and salt together then gradually stir dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.

Step 3Add chocolate chips. Blend all ingredients together with a spoon.

Step 4Drop a spoonful of mix onto ungreased non-stick cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 10-12 mins. Makes 20-24 cookies, more if you drop smaller batches.
