Mom made the holidays special, even making these shamrock cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup ground almonds
  • 1 - batch icing
  • 1 - container green decorating sugar
  • 2 cups flour

How To Make shamrock cookies, mom's

  • Step 1
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add flour and almonds, mix well. Chill 1 hour. Roll small portions at a time until thin, cut with shamrock cookie cutter. Bake at 400 degrees 10 min. Cool, frost with icing and dip in sugar.
  • Step 2
    For the icing, blend 1 c powdered sugar with 1/8 teaspoon peppermint flavoring or oil of cinnamon, 2 T water and a drop of green food coloring.
