Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups white sesame seeds (amount approximated)

How To Make aunt pearl's sesame seed cookies (giuggiulena)

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375. Line baking sheets with parchment.
  • Step 2
    Mix everything *except sesame seeds*.
  • Step 3
    Roll into small balls. Roll balls in sesame seeds and then roll balls into finger size.
  • Step 4
    Bake for about 20-25 minutes. Watch carefully so the bottoms don't burn.
