Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups siftedall purpose flour
- 3/4 tablespoon soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening, soft
- 3/4 cup firmly packed down brown sugar
- 1 - egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups quacker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
- TOPPING
- - four 1-oz. milk chocolate bars
- - pecan halves

Step 1Sift together flour, soda, and saltinto bowls. And add shortening, sugar, egg, milk and vinilla.Beat until smooth.Blend in oats. (dough will be quite stiff.)Form small balls; placed on greased cookie sheets,2 inches apart. flatten each with the bottom of a glass.Bake in a preheated oven (350.) 12 to 15 minutes

Step 2Remove cookies from oven; immediatley place a small square of chocolate on each. Press a pecan half into softened chocolate.

Step 3CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES: Mix one 6-oz. package (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate peices into dough. Form balls. Press a pecan half into each before making.
