scrumptious apple bars with caramel drizzle

This is a tasty treat I make during the fall months. I love any and all things apple and paired with caramel how can you go wrong? A great fall treat to make with the kiddies.

Ingredients

  • - 1 18oz pkg refrigerated sugar cookies dough
  • - 1 18oz pkg refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough
  • - 1/2 c flour
  • - 3 1/2 c chopped apples
  • - 1 c chopped peanuts
  • - 1/2 c smuckers caramel ice cream topping

How To Make scrumptious apple bars with caramel drizzle

  • Step 1
    While allowing the cookie doughs to sit at room temp for about 15 minutes, spray a 13x9 inch baking pan with non stick spray, and preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Step 2
    Once dough has sat at room temp for 15 minutes put dough and flour in a large bowl and beat on medium speed till well blended.
  • Step 3
    Now press the dough into the baking pan evenly.
  • Step 4
    Spoon apple chunks over dough covering entire thing. Press lightly to set in dough
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle the crushed peanuts over the apples.
  • Step 6
    Bake in oven for about 35 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. The middle should be firm to touch.
  • Step 7
    Remove from oven and cool completely in baking pan on wire rack
  • Step 8
    Drizzle the caramel topping over this and then cut into bars.
  • Step 9
    yum, betcha cant eat just one : )
