    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
  • 5 Tbsp
  • 5/2 c

How to Make Scottish Shortbread


  1. Mix first two ingredients
  2. Add Farina and gradually add flour
  3. Knead dough till firm and roll into a ball and cut ball into four equal parts and roll each into logs.
  4. Slice each log into 8 rounds
  5. Place on buttered cookie sheet 2" apart and pierce on top of cookie with fork a couple of times
  6. Preheat oven 250 degrees - 300 degrees and bake until slightly colored, est. 30 minutes.
  7. Cool on a wire rack and sprinkle with sugar during cooling period
